Snow on tap for northern and eastern Maine

By The Associated Press wire report November 22, 2008 02:33 PM

CARIBOU - Winter is still a month away, but people in northern and eastern Maine are in line for a preview.

A winter weather advisory is posted for Aroostook and Washington counties, where forecasters predict up to 4 inches of snow. High temperatures will be in the 20s, with winds gusting up to 35 mph.

Unseasonably cold weather, with brisk winds, will be the rule throughout Maine on Saturday, with snow showers possible in some areas.

A warm front is expected to usher in some slightly milder air Sunday night and Monday, setting the stage for slow-moving storms to move in around midweek.
