PORTLAND -- Community Counseling Center celebrating diverse families with an event at Deering High School today.

The free event is being held as part of National Family Week. Food, music, arts and crafts will be part of the celebration. U.S. Rep.-elect Chellie Pingree will accept a National Family Week Advocacy Award on behalf of her daughter, Maine. Rep. Hannah Pingree.

The event runs from 1 p.m. through 3:30 p.m.
