MADISON - Police on Monday said an incident reported last week on Old Point Avenue was a custody dispute between two parents and not a kidnapping as originally suspected.

Police Chief Barry Moores said Monday that no charges have been brought in the case, reported at 8:06 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day.

"It's not considered a kidnapping," Moores said. "We're looking at a custody dispute."
