CARRABASSETT VALLEY - A 25-year-old Whitefield man was killed when his compact car skidded on slush-covered Route 27 Monday morning and collided head-on with a full-sized pickup.
Pronounced dead at the scene was Craig Morin, who was on his way back to Whitefield after visiting his mother, Karen Hutchinson, of Stratton. Morin's father is Peter Morin of Whitefield, according to Carrabassett Valley Police Chief Scott Nichols.
The driver of the pick-up, Martin Tomich, 65, of Hackettstown, N.J., suffered some facial cuts, Nichols said.
