AUGUSTA -- The Kennebec County Sheriff's Office will honor Deputy Ronald Raymond today at a ceremony at the county government building, Sheriff Randall Liberty said.

Raymond, who retired from public service in 1992, was offered the enforcement position by Liberty after Liberty was elected Sheriff. He works free of charge about 15 hours a week, relying on donations from individuals and businesses in the area.

Raymond will be recognized at a ceremony at 11:30 a.m. at the county government building, 125 State St.
