BELFAST, Maine (AP) -- A 21-year-old Belfast man who allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, walked off with their baby and bit a state trooper who tried to arrest him is in hot water with the law.
Lee Vernon Williams was taken to Waldo County Jail following his arrest Sunday on charges of domestic violence assault, assault on an officer, refusing to submit to arrest, violation of bail conditions, refusing to sign a summons, and criminal mischief.
The police report said Williams bit Trooper Don Webber after officers managed to take the year-old child from the suspect's grasp.
