The Maine Principals' Association and the Center for the Prevention of Hate Violence have issued a guide to help school officials deal with racial incidents, the center's executive director said today.
Since the presidential election, the center has received several calls from school administrators seeking strategies to respond to racial incidents involving students, said Stephen Wessler, executive director.
The principals' association e-mailed "A Guide for Addressing Racial Incidents" to its members late Tuesday. The guide will be posted on the center's Web site tomorrow, Wessler said.
