GARDINER -- Art Warren grew up in Topsham on a street with a library. As principal of Gardiner Regional Middle School, he said, he often sneaked into the school library for quick reading breaks.
But those breaks never lasted long, Warren said Wednesday afternoon following a ceremony held at the school to dedicate the library to the retired principal.
"You always felt a little guilty if you spent five minutes," he said.
When Warren retired in June after 28 years as the middle school's principal, he was told staff and community members planned to dedicate the library in his honor. Teachers, administrators and others turned out Wednesday afternoon for the dedication ceremony.
"This was nice to come back and see people in one room," Warren said.
