OAKLAND -- Messalonskee held on despite a late Skowhegan rally to post a 52-42 victory over the Indians in Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A girls basketball action Tuesday night.

Messalonskee led by 16 with less than five minutes remaining in the game, but Skowhegan sophomore guard Adrienne Davis scored 13 points in 90 seconds to get the Indians within five. Davis then fouled out and the Eagles were able to run out the clock.

Davis led Skowhegan (1-1) with 20 points, whil Ari Perry had 14 for Messalonskee (2-0).
