Portland Police are investigating a series of three burglaries in two days on University Street in the Morrills Corner area of the city.

In all three cases, someone broke into residences that were left unlocked, stealing a brand new pair of sneakers, laptop computers and other electronics. The burglaries occurred during the day on Tuesday and Wednesday, and targeted a single-family home and both units of a duplex.

Police encourage residents to lock their doors when they are not home and to report any suspicious activity to police.
