The Oak Hill and Maranacook football teams will play in the Campbell Conference Class C next fall, according to the athletic directors at each school.
This is a Maine Principals' Association reclassification year, meaning schools can change classes depending on enrollment. Both Oak Hill and Maranacook fall under the enrollment limit of 505 students for Class C football and therefore will drop down in Class.
The changes, which still need approval from a board of principals in the spring, will bring the total of Pine Tree Conference Class B teams to 10, with the addition of Camden Hills next fall.
Gardiner Area High School athletic director Jeff Turnbull, who helps set the PTC B schedules, said the conference will likely go with an eight-game schedule. He said every team will play each other once, minus one team.
He added that the playoff field will likely stay with eight teams, but that "nothing is set."
