WATERVILLE - The U.S. Census Bureau seeks census takers who the bureau will begin training at either of two afternoon sessions in Waterville on Monday. The pay: $13.75 per hour and 58 cents per mile.
Bureau spokeswoman Shirley Kershner says the temporary part-time and full-time positions start in March and end when the 2010 census concludes.
Monday's sessions are scheduled for 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on the second floor of the Mid-Maine Chamber of Commerce office, One Post Office Square. To guarantee seating, call 228-7900. Bring a Photo ID and either a Social Security card or birth certificate to the sessions; veterans should bring a copy of form DD214.
