U.S. Census is hiring in central Maine

The U.S. Census Bureau is hiring.

Applicants to fill census taker positions will be tested in locations throughout central Maine.

Testing for these positions will begin Tuesday and will take place at the following times and places.

Tuesday: 9:30 a.m. at the Clinton Town Office, 27 Baker St. in Clinton;

3:30 -5:30 p.m. at the I-95 Event Center, 895 Kennedy Memorial Dr. in Oakland;

Wednesday: 5:30 p.m. at the Waterville City Council Chambers, 1 Common St. in Waterville;

Monday, Jan. 5: 9:30 a.m. at the Winslow Town Office, 114 Benton Ave. in Winslow;

Wednesday, Jan. 7: 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. at the Fairfield Community Center, 61 Water St.;

Thursday, Jan. 8: 2:30 p.m. at the Waterville City Council Chambers, 1 Common St.;

Officials from the U.S. Census Bureau recommend applicants live in the same area as the test location, but it is not required. To reserve a testing seat, call the U.S. Census Bureau at 228-7900.
