BELFAST $ A man accused of taking a Stockton Springs fifth-grade class hostage while armed with a handgun has been indicted on 41 felony counts by a Waldo County grand jury.
Fifty-five-year-old Randall Hofland of Searsport was indicted on 22 counts of kidnapping, 12 counts of criminal restraint with a dangerous weapon, six counts of criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon and one count of burglary during the grand jury's special session Tuesday.
None of the children was injured during the Halloween-morning hostage taking.
Hofland was arrested at the school the morning of the incident. He's being held at the York County Jail in lieu of $1 million bail.
