WESTBROOK - A water main broke Monday night, forcing local police to reduce traffic along Route 302 to one lane.

Police said the break occurred near 1054 Bridgton Road in the area of a water main break that occurred last month.

The water main problem was reported about 8 p.m. Repair workers from the Portland Water District were on the scene late Monday, but police were uncertain how long it would take to fix the break.
