Police busy with I-95 accidents

Police in the Augusta/Waterville area were "backed up" with calls of vehicles going off the road on Interstate 95, as of 10 this morning, according to a local dispatch.

Calls of accidents on I-95 began streaming in at 9:30. Half an hour later, there was a report of a vehicle off the road near mile marker 127 on the southbound lane, and another report of a tractor-trailer that had jackknifed.

I-95 accident reports continued throughout the morning. At 11:26, a caller reported an accident between a pickup truck and a snowmobile team near mile marker 135 in Benton. One person suffered a hand injury, according to the report.
