FAIRFIELD - The owners of the Jean Shop that operated for many years at 160 Main Street will move their business to the site of the former Marden's Shoe Store, at 71 Main Street.
Town assessor Cindy Tuttle said Monday that Bay View Loan Servicing LLC of Florida has foreclosed on the downtown property owned by Sharon Butler and John Lindscott. Tuttle did not have contact information on either person.
Corson's Auto Repair and Eye for Detail, an auto detailing shop, also do business at the building near the overpass, which was the original Marden's in the 1960s. Butler and Lindscott had not opened their new store as of Monday.
Butler and Lindscott also had operated the Chicken Coop restaurant, next door to the Jean Shop. The restaurant closed in 2007, Tuttle said.
The Jean Shop offered used jeans, DVDs, pretend swords, video games, touch lamps and bargain items.
