Bethany Dumas of Augusta, a freshman at the University of Southern Maine, was named Little East Conference Rookie Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Dumas took first place in the pole vault at both the New England Alliance and Little East Conference championships. Her vault of 12 feet, zero inches was a school and meet record. She also finished second in the conference in the 200 meters and was sixth in the long jump.
