Waterville girls win Class B track title

Shelby Tuttle set two state records and the Waterville girls won the Class B state indoor track and field championship at Bates College in Lewiston.

Waterville scored 67 points, beating out York, which finished with 65. Cape Elizabeth was third with 61.5 points.

Greely also won the boys Class B title, while Scarborough swept the boys and girls titles.

Tuttle set the state record in the long jump with a leap of 17 feet, 5 inches and the tirple jump with a leap of 37-9 1/2.

In the Class A boys meet, Cony High School's Luke Fontaine won the boys mile with a time of 4:26.21. Erik Anderson of Messalonskee was second in both the 55 (6.76) and the 200 (23.35).
