Waterville girls, Greely boys win Class B track titles

LEWISTON - The Waterville girls and Greely boys won Class B indoor track and field championships Monday at Bates College.

Waterville's fourth-place finish in the final event of the day, the 800 relay, propelled the Purple Panthers to the team championship. Waterville finished with 67 points, ahead of York (65), Cape Elizabeth (61.5) and Mount Desert Island (55) in the 22-team field.

Greely won its first Class B boys track title since 2003, finishing with 92 points ahead of Falmouth (67) and Hampden Academy (51) in the 27-team field. Greely's Nate Martin set a Class B record of 22.67 seconds in the 200 dash.
