Portland hair salon robbed

PORTLAND - A Congress Street hair salon was robbed tonight by a man police say wore a black bandana over his face.

Lt. Mike Jones said the man, who was also wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, entered Salon Burke at 550 Congress St. about 6:30 p.m.

There were several customers and stylists inside the salon when the man pulled out a handgun and demanded money.

No shots were fired and no injuries were reported, but the man get away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The robber was still at large late tonight.
