Annual Hay Drive Saturday to help horse rescue farm in Industry

INDUSTRY - The Giddy-Up & Go 4-H Horse Club is having a hay drive for the Double B Equine Rescue in Industry on Saturday.

Club members and volunteers can pick up donated hay on Saturday morning and they are asking people with horses or other hay-loving animals from around the area to donate two bales of hay to the rescued horses.

"Our goal is to again raise at least 20 bales of hay. This will feed the horses for about 2 days. The horse rescue needs a lot of hay," said club leader Janine Winn.

Last year, when the Club's "Hay Raiser" was held for the first time, club members accepted donations of 21 square bales and one, 1,000-pound round bale, for Double B.

"We really felt that we were helping out and were happy with the outcome last year", said Club President Aiden Shankland. "We hope to do as well this year, maybe even better."

If interested, please call Winn at 778-3856. Donations of cash will also be appreciated. Please call as soon as possible.

Double B Equine Rescue is a state certified facility and donations are tax deductible. It is located at 997 West Mills Rd., Industry, ME. 04938. The phone is (207) 778-6479.
