In the fall of 2005 I was traveling east on Rt.105 in Augusta, between the spring road and togus pond, a big Cat ran across the road in front of me, I believe it could have been a mountain lion, as it seemed to large to be a Bobcat. I guess their have been other sitings in that area.report abuseracefan

I know a place in Maine where at least one mountain lion has been seen for years. If we say anything to a game warden, we'll be labeled crazy, so we'll keep it our little secret. Saw a pair of wolves once here several years ago, but maybe not. The warden service doesn't seem to think that people without their education can know what a mountain lion or wolf looks like.report abusefree1

I have a friend who claims she and her partner saw one, but will not release names or locations because of fear that someone may try to take it for a prize. I do think that a good place to possibly find evidence of their existence in Maine might be in the hills north of Spring River Lake (off Rte. 182) between Franklin & Cherryfield. Just a hint.report abuseYou must be a registered user of MaineToday.com to post a comment. Register or log in.
