There are substantially more tools and tips for avoiding identity theft than what is listed here, although these are good tips.
There are also a lot of cost efficient or free tools, such as Fraud Alerts, Free Annual Credit Report, Credit Lock / Credit Freeze, Pre-Screen-optout, National Do Not Call List, and more....

Congratulations to our state regulators for amazingly discovering that this is the holiday shopping season and they issue this warning with only three days remaining before Christmas.
