Thee is a process in order for contracts to be awarded. The job goes to bid and the lowest QUALIFIED candidate is awarded the contract. I bid jobs every week, so the process is all too familiar to me. As a former Mainer, I agree that it would have been nice to see a Maine company get the contract, if it were if fact a State job, not a Federal job that would have been the case. Rest easy, these federal jobs put their contractors under heavy scrutiny and it is highly unlikely that a company with poor track records would be awarded a contract of that magnitude, no bonding company would touch them to even bid it.report abusemainerunr .

We (Maine) did not give this project to an out of state contractor. The Federal Government gave it to an American contractor that happens to be from Mass. You can't blame the govenor for this one.report abusekidatheart

You must have been out of Maine too long. Come back for a visit and spend oh... I don't know... 15 minutes in downtown Portland. You'll run out of fingers (and toes) to count on.report abuse
