Sorry Cynical, that was bond money you voted for and thus must be used for what it was intended. This is an opportunity for people to express their ideas on what they think should be preserved not what some State employee thinks is a good idea. Isn't that what you have been complaining about? The State floats a bond issue for the The Land for Maine’s Future program, and they don't have any land they want to preserve? This continual state money grab has to stop. Of course, if you give an entity money when they don't need any, they'll find some way to spend it.
How about this novel idea: identify land that needs preserving and THEN ask for money. Doesn't that make sense?

This boggles the mind!
