I will be voting for Romney. I have studied the candidates expensively and I believe that Romney has the most to offer Maine. He is the best candidate by far regarding the economy and his stance on immigration is in line with most GOP voters. It helps that he has great values and an amazing family. I do not see Paul as having a shot and McCain has turned me off with his family scandal and consistent lies. I am looking forward to caucusing.report abuseHermann Munster

Commoner - I've paid more attention to Ron Paul that I have to any other candidate. I am willing to guess that I am among the few who are commenting here who watched Ron Paul's interview on a major Sunday morning show. He had everyone's attention with no other candidate to hog the limelight or to mess up his answers. Some of his answers on that show were just plain wacked. That's right: wacked. Frankly, he presents himself better when others are around to distract from his off-kilter comments. And that's NOT the fault of the media; it's his own mouth.report abuseHermann Munster

Ron Paul's policy positions are counter-productive at best. In some cases, what he proposes would require constitutional amendments. His best position is abortion but even that has seen the same shifting that is present with the so-called major candidates. As for "freedom," the real reason Ron Paul gets enthusiastic followers is because they believe he will legalize pot. Perhaps they'd be better served by putting down the brownies and using what's in their heads instead of the space between their ears.report abuse

Oak - several of us tried to engage you in a discussion about policy but you shifted and bent with the best of them.

This man is the candidate that we all say we are yearning for ... freedom loving, free market, dump the IRS, bring the troops home and on and on ...
But when we get the "Real Deal" he is looked upon with scorn and viewed as a kook and loser ...
If we don't get this guy in the white house ... we deserve what we get ... more and more of the same ... fewer freedoms, less privacy and less and less of what we say we love of this country.
Lets face it ... we as a country hate rich people, adore sports figures and no longer tolerate the "Real" American dream ...
If we truly want our country back we must fight to have people of honor in politics, to reduce the size and scope of the existing bureaucracy and to take responsibility for ourselves. As someone once said ...

Too bad so few of you are paying attention (oh thats right ... I forgot that many of you are a product of the public indoctrination camps).
