A large number of voters here in Kittery were turned away at the door. Information obtained or received by those not being allowed in had a similar thread: incorrect information on how to get in (hours, etc.) or outright disinformation. While I was there trying to get in,(five minutes) there were at least another twenty people who were arriving to find out the same thing, and a steady stream of people on their way to the door as we (my wife and I) walked away. I'm sorry, but I believe in one person one vote, and I believe my right to vote was denied, as well as others. todays inquiries to local chairman in our area, Bill Pierce, resulted in nothing less than personal insults as to our motives for being upset to begin with. I am not pleased. If the caucus system is this open to abuse and so heavily structured as to exclude ANY number, much less as large anumber as I witnessed, then it deserves to be abolished so established interest cannot control and dictate outcome of elections, and rob the general populace of their right to have their votes count.report abusej vii

Please do not become dishearten, remember it was a record turnout and the Voting Official were overwhelmed.
Continue to take part. Do not give up your rights to vote.
Also, if you do not like the way things are, volunteer or run for office to lend your expertise.

I was very excited to attend Portland's caucus today and was completely disheartened to experience the meltdown that occurred instead. I witnessed nothing but chaos and ad hoc attempts to get people to write down a "vote" on a scrap of paper (not even a formal ballot) instead of caucusing, with informal "promises" that the vote would be included (how -- by organizing them and sending them up to the caucus rooms before the actual caucus?) That absolutely did not occur. After about 5 hours in the melee, I did what I was ordered to do, wrote down my preference and then left, before any "caucusing" had actually occurred. I went home to see the AP and CNN were declaring Obama the winner of the Portland caucus specifically, knowing full well that it hadn't even occurred yet!! Terrible and frightening experience.report abuseNick Record

We showed up after 4:00, and had to fight our way in. The doors to Portland high school were locked, even though the caucus was advertised as being open until 6:00. A crowd rallied, demanding to be let in to caucus. We were told by security that we couldn't (they had decided to close at 4:00 instead). After nearly an hour of protesting and noise-making, we were finally allowed in, and only after a TV camera showed up.
I look forward to caucusing again in the next election.report abuse
