This is great news, but if E-R has been at Brunswick since 1994, why is this news? What more will they be doing there in 2011 than they've been doing since 1994? The article didn't make that clear.report abuseBOOGIEWHOMP

Brian of West Gardiner: What school did you attend that taught you the language that you use.In other words, what I am saying is that your street corner langusge is deplorable. You are not impressing anyone with it. And I, for one, am very easy to impress. You see, good manners, decent language, and politeness will always work. I suggest you try it! Have a good evening!report abuseCommonCents

It shows that is a very strong commitment to keep it open as a private aviation facility serving a wide variety of aircraft.
As a resident, I'm not thrilled with having an increase in small plane traffic, esp. those hot small corporate jetc; but it beats having a jet fighter or helo. base.report abuse

This is a major blow to the Brunswick GREENS who pulled out all the stops to tear up the runways.

Some years ago I was an officer with the Sea Cadet program located at the base. One of our cadets went on to attend and graduate from Embry-Riddle. He is now a commercial airline pilot.. or was last I heard. I hope the "powers that be" will allow the Sea Cadet program to continue in the building they occupy on base. It is a VERY beneficial program.report abuseYou must be a registered user of MaineToday.com to post a comment. Register or log in.
