We pay 16 cents per KWH of electricity compared to 9 cents in Florida (which has lots of hurricane-related powerline damage) and several other less expensive places, so we should expect to receive above-average service for our money. Our electricity cost puts us in a realm where wind and other sources should be competitive , so why are we still burning coal and oil to generate electricity ?report abuseSweetPea

I would think that it would be more important for the poles to remain upright. The lines are able to do their job better laying on their sides. IMHOreport abuseGary Veill
