No need for Real ID over 50 is not true. It replaces your drivers license. Age is not a factor. See DHS web site for real information.report abuse

Though I think we need to get on board with Real ID and follow the recommendation of the 9/11 Commission, especially in Maine where we ignore those same recommendations by making it easy for illegal aliens to get Maine driver licenses, I find it interesting that Baldacci singled out Tom Allens when Senator Collins was the one who introduced legislation in the Senate to delay Real ID. It’s all politics that she did not get mentioned.report abuseNonny1

They don't like RealID because it would invade the privacy of illegal aliens, all whom they've given driver's licenses to! Seriously. They've made it ok NOT to obey national laws even though they have taken an oath to uphold the laws of the land/state. I hope the feds do NOT cave. I hope the Maine politicians have their phone lines lighting up with calls from angry travelers who are inconvenienced. Maine politicians want to protect law-breakers over citizens who have not broken any laws. Then there's the cost issue; with a $190 MILLION deficit, where's the beef?
