Watching Ch 6 news on this story tonight, I had to laugh at the last shot of video when one of the proponents for more Section 8 housing, some single mom who was benefiting from it, gets into the driver's seat of her car with VANITY PLATES!!!!report abuse

i was a single mother and did rceive housing for a little over a year, and i always worked, there is no reason these ppl cant work. i see it all the time and it is rediculous. it is true, most of them are bunch of lazy pigs. i would walk to work at 4:30 in the morning and they were all still up partying fron the night before and all was qiute when i walked home at 3:00 in the afternoon, they were all sleeping it off until 9 or 10 at night when the drug trade started in. i had landlords shake my hand and thank me for leaving the places i lived in better off then when i moved in. but i guess it is a generational thing, and i was raised better then that. people do what they know, and most of them dont know enough to come in out of the rain.report abuse

Section eight vouchers are used to winter in warmer climates and summer in Maine. Isn't that nice of the taxpayers? Wouldn't you like to be where it is nice and warm for the winter? And return to Maine for the summer months?report abuse

I work with realtors, there are plenty of housing in Maine for under $40000 dollars. Two working people at minimum wage fulltime jobs can afford them. There is no need for public housing in Mainereport abuse
