On the contrary, Frank, we all have something to gain by the school district consolidation. For instance, it means that you will only have a handful of districts applying for scarce State grants as opposed to all of them now.report abuseFrank Rier

Furthermore, the the $36 million in savings are estimates and not hard figures. Kind of like our two year budget - it's an estimate that was $200mil short.report abuse

Jejj: Easy to run your ignorant mouth when consolidation DOES NOT affect Lewiston?? Let's consolidate all Lewiston and Auburn schools and save a few million. We'll put you in charge of everything.

Do they realize that if this is repealled they need to account for an additional $36 million in cuts to the state budget. Obviously most of them say 2+2 =3 IDIOTSreport abuse

THE IDIOTS IN THE HOUSE.....Most of them are in bed with the local school superintendents and administrators who we don't need. There is too much fat in the current system.

Another example of wasted money. All the work that was put into the consolidation and our "Governor" veto's the bill. If this consolidation had to happen, why didn't "Baldy" and his Commissioner of Education work these details out in the beginning. What a classic example of "red tape"....and yet we continue to wonder why the state coffers are empty?report abuseYou must be a registered user of MaineToday.com to post a comment.
