Hopefully, the potential for a flood on the St. John River, will never catch residents, unaware again. The flood of 1991, came as a total surprise, catching many people stranded, and having to come out, by boats , wiping out 2 bridges..Many ice watchers go to Allagash every year, just to watch the ice run. Many were unable to get back home. Never again do people make a dash to Allagash to watch the ice run.We like excitement, but not through a flood...The potential is always there , even though we pray, never again..report abuseAldin
