Most taxpayers that reach for their wallets day to day find themselves shaking hands with the Maine House and Senate membership.
Just go to the taxpayers and sportsmen in and out of state to fill holes in the budget. Maybe we can have some new check off boxes on the State of Maine Income Tax forms as well. Go figure......Is this why we elected these folks?report abuse

When the Legislature makes a poor call and plans poorly while still spending, they simply go to the taxpayers pocketbook for relief and corrective measures.

I think the budget gaps we face may be false. They seem to be a win win for democrats in this state. Everyone screams about them, but in the end they always come out of elections as the majority. And every year they get their tax/fee and spend bills through. You would think the more angry people get and the more taxes they are paying, the less likely they would be to vote for a schmuck like a democrat. They dont care if their budget crisis gets bad press, it doesnt effect their election results! People need to wake up and vote for some conservatives to get a handle on this socialist state!!report abuseRayzor

And pay just to go in the woods?Which ones,Knottingham, right? The sheriff will be there to take our gold,we'll have to call robin hood.
Are we paying to commercialize the woods?I'm against it.It costs me more than $100 already before I ever get my boots dirty afield.report abuse

Hunting and fishing cost that much more again? My bait tag just to put bearbait down went from 2 dollars to thirty ...now more?Just had an increase a year or two ago, how's it costing them more now for me to go hunting,I pay for the bullets and the gas!!What else can you sell everyone and they still return year after year to pay to do it again even after most of them kill nothing? The state gets enough for these things already.
