Larry Doughty of Brewer, ME Having followed Penobscot County District Attorney, Chris Almy's career for many years, I have to question his ability to continue on as the DA. His remarks about the acquittal of the six anti-war activist, blaming the politicians due to their support of the Iraq War is stunning. I cannot recall ever his making such remarks over any court case. Furthermore, how does Almy reconcile his ridiculous remarks with those of one member of the jury, who flatly denied the war issue was part of their verdict. For whatever reason the jury decided this case in favor of the anit-war people,does make us wonder where do you draw the line on law and order. However, in this particular case, the bigger issue is how our long time DA reacted to defeat. Now threatens to take his ball and go home. Well, here is a little advice for Chris, why don't you resig, and let more professional's do the DA's work in a professional way.
