Now, total investments only equal $6.2 million.
Ignoring the "major gifts" from TD and Betterment, the Osher Foundation contributed ~56% of the total. I would venture a guess that TD and Betterment contributed at least $500,000 each. So that would bring us to about ~68%.
And it's not a tax because the money came from gambling funds. You pay for entertainment there and then those funds are no longer yours.
If CMP donated the money, you wouldn't be able to claim it was a tax there just because you gave your money to CMP.report abuse

This was money the State strong armed out of the casino deals. It was not a donation, but a payment to keep the State off thier back sides. Never the less it was money people spent while gambling, so if the house can't keep it, it's a form of taxation in my opinion.report abuse
