When is the last time any of you so-called christians actually read leviticus? We built a whole industry here in Maine on lobster so I guess if we took leviticus seriously we'd all boil in a pot of hell together.report abuse

Sorry mdenis46! I’m just not sure that a misspelling discounts my point.

In response to your Old and New Testaments comments; I have not taken the remarks out of the text to advance my agenda and I don’t think I’ve called anyone evil or ignorant.

God’s will and purpose in our lives has been clearly written in those books and they are available for all to read.

By the way, since I’m posting again…..I would like to thank EVERYONE for allowing me to practice my apologetics! (Even though my spelling sucks)!report abuse

Jill StClair -- "You can’t go into the Bible and pick and choose the tenants you want"

First of all, it's TENETS. Tenants rent apartments or offices; tenets are principles or beliefs. You ARE right in a way though, because with the Maine Civil Rights laws one can't discriminate against TENANTS based on race, religion, marital status, sexual orientation, etc...

Second, fundamentalist Christians are forever quoting both Old AND New Testaments, and using whatever parts they choose to advance their own agenda. When non-fundamentalists do it, we're evil and ignorant. When YOU do it, it's God's work!

Something's wrong with not only your vocabulary but also your logic.report abuse

(Sorry, KJ webmaster: I paged forward and got the "your comment has been received" message box, but the incomplete comment was not posted. It's still not working properly, but at least it's not posting erroneously. Happy de-bugging!)

At the end of the day, our religious opinions have nothing to do with the laws of this country.

IN this country, we are free to practice our own faith as we see fit, but we are NOT free to impose our religious beliefs on others.

Anyone who uses Leviticus or Romans as justification for civil law in the United States of America is seriously misguided and confused.report abuse
