It isn't the court system that does not make sense, it is DA Lawrence. York County DA has a history of going soft on crime. A couple from Biddeford stole $60,000.00 worth of equipment over 2 years ago and have never gone to trial and at this late date I wonder if they ever will.
Don't expect very much coming from this DA's office. Seems Mr. Lawrence also has a 'mental disability'.report abuse

Scott - you apparently never met an attorney. They make things up all the time. Anything in defense of a client.report abuse

I do not know either the victim or the driver but I do know that if he held a drivers license then his disability is not that severe. If he can pass a driving/written exam then the man-not "boy" knows right from wrong. If he did leave the scene due to fright or not knowing what to do then he goes home and calls the police immediately. We have to remember that he didn't just hit someone, he killed someone and this someone was a wife, mother, and grandmother. If it were my family member that hit the victim I would feel the same way. If it were my family member that were killed I would feel the same way.
He is wrong and should be held accountable just as every other "non disabled" person would be. The justice system seems a little unfair in this case as the bail was so minimal.report abuse

Mainecoonc91, than if he has a "disability" that causes him to hit and kill people and then drive home, perhaps he shouldn't EVER be driving! And those who care for him should have made sure he never got a license and/or a vehicle to drive by contacting the people who hand out licenses!
If he had killed YOUR husband or child or mother, YOU would not make excuses for him.

The father should be charged with MUCH more since the CRIME involved a death! What an irresponsible piece of poop!report abuse
