Schools out and the kids are bored....It's a small town so eventually the culprits will be found. No doubt years of poor parenting lead to this shameful act.

Maine is a toilet bowl state. The WORST state in the country on som many states. Maine residents should at least try to do something to improve this state than just getting drunk 5-7 nights a week while getting tattooed like 18th century side show freaks.
Maybe making it a felony might help, maybe not. But at least its attempt to do something. Maine had a chance to make vandalizng dead Mainers a felony....the backward arse Maine officials said no.report abuse

Reader, why would making the crime a felony matter? The man who killed the woman in Augusta a few months back had received a relatively long sentence for molestation and then another crime, but he was released early (just in time to kill her). He's one of MANY examples. "Alternative sentencing" is what the Maine DOC, governor and politics are using. Their own internal document that I posted months ago show that they are doing whatever it takes to keep felons and other criminals out of the jails and prisions (to save money, which you need to do when you stupidly overspend by 190 million and KEEP spending). Teens or adults with so little respect for the dead are the same types who committ other crimes (against living people). The state will wait until they kill a lawyer or judge or politician before it does ANYTHING.report abuseYou must be a registered user of MaineToday.com to post a comment. Register or log in.
