Many tv reports and the idiot on tv claimed that the fire started while the employees were on a coffee break. If this is true and W&D had followed OSHA regulations, there would have been someone there "firewatching" while the others were at break. Where is OSHA in all of this? Many people could have died in the holes in those tugs, had this happened while work was being performed. This place is and always has been a role model of how many workplaces violate safety regulations daily. I know, I've been there aa an inspector.report abuseKEVIN123

I LIKE HOW THAT IDIOT ON TV THE OTHER NIGHT WAS TRYING TO BLAME THE FD FOR NOT "CONTAINING" THE FIRE ,AND BASICALLY SAYING THAT THEY WERE NEGLIGANT IN SURPRESSING THE FIRE. I'M WILLING TO BET THIS GUY NEVER HAS FACED A 40 FOOT WALL OF FLAMES OR HAS CRAWLED ON HIS HANDS AND KNEES IN 1500 DEGREE + CONDITIONS TO FIGHT A FIRE. HE PROBALLY WOULD SOIL HIS PANTS!report abuseYou must be a registered user of MaineToday.com to post a comment. Register or log in.
