This will reduce evaporation because of a smaller surface area. Water Vapor is the largest green house gas. It will be interesting to see how deep a channel is cut into 100 years of silt.

Remove the dam wich are clean and can produce electricity so the fish can go up river. Now lets put up Nucleor plant ther to make electricity and we wont have to fish , just pick up the ones floating.report abusefreddy

Early on in the administrative process, I attended the several hearings with a open mind. Fact of the matter is that I was biased in favor of Fletcher at the bonset UNTIL I heard the facts.
There is no doubt in my mind that we made the right decision.
The issue is actually much bigger than just the Halifax dam removal.
Personal interests are destroying our earth.report abuse

Islander, I am in agreement with your knowledge as expressed in your intellectual commentary. Ken Fletcher had a personal interest in this issue, just as you and I might have had if we had lived on the impoundment. I might have had more respect for Mr. Fletcher had he as least admitted it.
