Revenue isn't rising as fast as expenses.
Try reading the question carefully before you attempt to refute my Viewpoint."
Ah yes, classic under the bridge behavior. When one argument is refuted, change the argument and claim that's what you said all along. Except anyone reading here can see exactly what you said originally and how my information refuted it.
And where are your facts to support the revenue versus expenses statement, or do we just take your word for it?
And please -- the Downeaster doesn't go to Portsmouth, never has.report abuse

"NOT SO FAST....the ridership between portsmouth and Portland has not expanded at the same rate at between Boston and Portsmouth. Your quote didn't shed any light on it.

The train stops are as follows:
Portland, OOB (during summer), Saco, Wells, Dover, Durham/UNH, Exter, Haverhill, Woburn, Boston.
Only service to Portsmouth would be on the C&J from Dover to Bostonreport abuse

Oh yeah one other thing is where does everyone get the idea that it provides service to Portsmouth. That is not true at all.

Yes it has increased alot lately on an almost daily basis. There are certain days coming back from Boston that the train has been so overbooked by Amtrak that people will either need to stand or sit on the floor, mainly because they have not taken into consideration how many daily commuters are taking the same train. I have only seen them add an extra car on a few occasions. With the added speed restrictions, delays, heat restrictions the average additional time can be as much as an additional hour.
The one added bonus however is the addition of free wifi service within the entire train that works about as well as a normal cellphone signal.
Overall it sure beats driving and parking in Boston everyday.report abuse
