they never should have split the NWS in to two one i caribou one in gray. caribou last night did not issue one special statement on the storms when they pummeled eastern coastal maine with heavy rain and lightning which caused the mass power outage and fire that burned a library. not one special statementreport abuseChris

Possibly the nearest confirmed funnel cloud by the NWS was south of Nashua, NH, in the early 1990's when the remnants of a hurricane passed through. Also a couple of years ago there was an odd spectacle of low-level sheets of moisture moving horizontally toward a thunderstorm, caused by a strong onshore wind moving against the direction of the thunderstorms. I presumed that might be a sign of rotation occurring however I haven't seen that occur since.report abuseDarthBubba
