I got my check but wasn't big enough to help. Can I get seconds on the check (just like the dining halls in the military you want more you ask and receive more)report abusepbh4444

It is Federal money. It is not technically "unclaimed" --it is a stimulus payment that people can apply for. It has simply not been applied for.report abuse

The State gets none of this if it is not applied for. It is not like a Maine income tax return that you did not receive.

Watch out. In Augusta right now somebodys thinking $9 million unclaimed dollars. If all that money got claimed and spent the sales tax would get us $450,000 dollars. If that money does not get claimed Augusta will then say we have a tax shortfall of $450,000 and we have to raise taxes to make up for it. Afterall the bean counters in Augusta assumed all that money would get claimed and spent so they put every penny in their tax collection projections.report abuseYou must be a registered user of MaineToday.com to post a comment.
