Get ready for a bunch of stupid entries like "No Blood for Oil!", "Impeach Bush/Cheney!" or a group of people from Darfur in native headdress...

Nothing uglier, or more dated, than some self-important "artists" rendition of those 70s type urban murals. Just when you think a tank farm couldn't look worse...

If you've got to have a big, ugly tank farm, clean white tanks with freshly painted logos is all you need...or better yet, sell the space, like they do on buses. Give the revenue to the library, or something useful...or Dirigo Health/LOLreport abuse

dosomething Err, do you not go to the Store and purchase items? All items your purchase are trucked in.

Our economy is based on the free flow of goods and services and oil is that root baby.

Hey Nick H while tax dollars may not be spent, donations from private sources that might otherwise go to useful art programs are instead diverted to this vanity project. Any dollar that goes to Jean Maginnis will be money not spent on real art endeavors.report abuse

After this horrible project is complete the only benefactor will be the fossil fuel industry. Do you really think when some flies into Portland and catches a glimpse of this joke that they will think about the creative Maine economy? No they will only think about oil tanks. Sprague energy will use this project to further its own ends as they seek to build coal fired plants and keep us all deep in oil for as long as possible. Jean Maginnis has done a tremendous disservice to Maine by allowing it to become the poster child for big oil to continue its errant ways. She has further enabled the industry to paint itself as a good neighbor on the outside, while on the inside they continue to work hard to limit safe shipping, slow the demise of king coal, and extend the economic and environmental damage that they inflict on all of us. Shame on the Maine Center for Creativity and the artists who participated.report abuse
