eddisc I find your comment very ignorant. I work in an ER and I know for a fact that life flight will not take patients that are "coding" which means the patient is currently lifeless or heading in that direction at a rate that is nearly impossible to stop. Most codes are at a point that no matter what life saving measure you take, no matter how much medicine you pump into them they wont come back. The gentleman that tragically died was too far gone for life flight to fly to portland or boston. The personell that are employed by life flight are very well trained and professional and as for spell check, come on accidents happen. I think you need to blow off some steam somewhere else and not ridicule the people who are doing the best they can at their jobs.report abuse

"authorities canceled a LifeFlight medical helicopter..."
"rescuers were able to resuscitate Quirion, and he was taken by Delta Ambulance to MaineGeneral Medical Center's Thayer Unit in Waterville, where he succumbed at 3:42 p.m...."

WHAT rational was used to explain canceling the LifeFlight? Money? Flight needed elsewhere?
What ramifications - if any - well, besides a dead body, are there from making the decision to cancel the flight? Is there any follow-up? Is training (or LACK thereof) an issue here?

MY interest is from having many family members and friends living in Maine.report abuse
