Hey - the way I read the story is.... they are investigating rather speed and alcohol was a factor. So you idiots that read it different... read again.
I am his sister and I spoke with the police department yesterday and I was told speed may have been a factor. Alcohol was not mentioned. It's people like yourself's that start all the nasty rumors.
At this time, I am not sure what happened, and to the best of my knowledge - the only one that really knows would be my brother.
As for you folks that think a 40.00 dollar helmet is gonna save your head - think again!!
The State of Maine has a no helmet law - so it is entirely up to each individual, to make that decision. Everyone has an opinion about it and we all don't agree - that does not make you or the other's right or wrong!report abuse

I agree, being drunk and speeding=very stupid. Helmets are not a lifesaver every case for sure, and they will not "get you in trouble". They are an attempt to mitigate the effects of a crash. Most times they work very well. Type in "motorcycle crashes" on youtube and you will see helmets at work.

Never did hear from the opponents on helmets today, wonder why that is?report abuse

Wonder how "cool" his family and friends will think he is when he is a vegetable.

Anyone in the "helmet laws suck" crowd want to chime in on this???

I have no pity for any fool drinking and driving at all. I have even less for motorcyclists who refuse to wear a helmet. This guy typifies exactly why helmets should be worn.

Reader said it best.report abuse
