SO, SO SAD. And how sad for all of the sick comments regarding this story. There was NO need for the SPPD to shoot. Mike was a really nice guy and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.report abuseNelson Donnell

john smith of urallnumb, ME, based upon the interview conducted with the WGME reporter on the scene, there were no signs of Mr. Norton charging anyone.

We also have to remember this is 2 individual cops involved in shooting not everyone of them there. These 2 made an error maybe but the rest aren't accountable for others actions. I don't think they should have shot him but then again I wasn't there. Maybe if so many P.D. didn't go there the situation would have remained calmer. A few people helping can be a good thing.report abusejohn smith

JAKE007 AND TOM MURPHY OF PORTLAND: IN YOUR EXPERT OPINION HOW CLOSE WOULD YOU LET A CHARGING MAN WITH A KNIFE GET BEFORE YOU PULLED THE TRIGGER? SOUNDS LIKE YOU TWO ARE MAKING BOLD STATEMENTS NOT HAVING BEEN THERE OR NOT KNOWING THE WHOLE STORY, IM GLAD I WASN'T THAT COP...YOU TWO HAVE ALREADY CONVICTED HIM...WHEN DID NORTON BECOME THE VICTIM HERE?report abuseYou must be a registered user of MaineToday.com to post a comment.
