This is exciting news, but those Biddefordians who descry "gentrification" best get over that. Any changes that will "improve" its downtown will doubtless attract people who have a tad more money than most of the current residents of its downtown. You can disparage this and call it "gentrification", or you can embrace it and call it progress. All of this will result in a change in culture. And that is exactly what Biddo needs.There are ways to embrace the past and build on it. The worst thing you can do is to just say we must keep itreport abuse

I wish Biddo luck. If done correctly, the city could grow and flourish again. Nowhere in the state is there a better combination of waterfront, space and infrastructure to work with. Lets hope that the town's leadership don't go out of their way to screw this opportunity up.report abuse
